Reserving Dog Parker

Can I book a Dog Parker in advance?

Absolutely! The free Dog Parker mobile app allows our members to reserve Dog Parkers in advance for a certain time or to call “dibs” on a location 15 minutes beforehand.

The Dog Parker app is available on both iOS and Android. In addition to making reservations, the app helps you locate the nearest Dog Parker and allows you take advantage of the real-time web camera monitoring inside the house to see how your pup is doing!

How long can my dog stay in a Dog Parker?

Dog Parkers have a maximum time limit of 90 consecutive minutes and three (3) hours in any 24-hour period. This time limit is for the safety of all our canine Dog Parker members and is based on NYC anti-tethering laws.

The Dog Parker is intended for short time periods to allow dogs and their owners to spend more time together while running errands or making quick trips.

If we notice that you are nearing the 90-minute time limit, we’ll notify you via text message that your pup should be picked up by you or your alternate caretaker. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you or your alternate caretaker from picking up your pup within the 90-minute time limit, Dog Parker staff will move your dog to one of our partner boarding facilities. You will be immediately notified of the boarding facility location and your account will be charged an additional $200 administrative fee in addition to the facility’s standard kenneling fees.

Dog House Specifications

How often are Dog Parker’s cleaned?

Each Dog Parker is professionally cleaned daily by our Dog Parker sanitation crew and as-needed for specific issues (as reported by members or store partners). In addition to daily maintenance, Dog Parkers also use UVC lights to kill bacteria, viruses, and molds between uses, giving you extra peace of mind and keeping your pup extra safe.

Dog Parker uses the same procedures as doggie daycares and boarding facilities and we are committed to following the NY Department of Health animal boarding best practices. Our number one priority is your dog’s safety, health, and happiness.

How is the temperature regulated inside of Dog Parkers?

To help ensure that your pup is safe and comfortable while using the Dog Parker, each house is thermo-controlled and monitored 24/7 for temperature and humidity levels. Each house is also insulated, keeping the temperature inside comfortable for your dog in both summer and winter. The Dog Parker design includes forced-air ventilation fans and optional additional cooling and heating mechanisms depending on the season to keep houses within safe temperature ranges.

During more extreme weather days, owners will receive automatic text alerts when the temperature ranges inside the Dog Parkers approach the limits of our usage guidelines (below 32F or above 80F).

To ensure the safety of our canine Dog Parker members, when the temperature inside the Dog Parker goes below 32F or above 80F, houses will not be available for use.

What are the houses made of?

Designed by Boyce Technologies, a Queens-based manufacturer, the sleek Dog Parker exterior is made from powder-coated aluminum and the interior is constructed from the same type of nonporous plastic materials used in veterinary facilities.

Our newest house model comes with upgraded features designed to ensure dogs’ comfort, safety, and security, including thermo-controlled sensors, cooling and heating mechanisms, and auto-sanitizing technology. Dog Parkers also contain backup battery power, multiple system redundancies, and an additional manual override key in case of emergencies.

The Dog Parker’s spacious 30”W x 33.5”D x 46.5”H design is suitable for dogs ranging from small Frenchies to Golden Retrievers. The Dog Parker is not yet able to accommodate very large breeds such as Newfoundlands and Great Danes.

How many dogs can go in each Dog Parker?

We currently only allow one dog to use each Dog Parker unit at a time. However, if you have two small dogs (less than 30 lbs each) and they are used to being boarded together, they may share a Dog Parker. Both must be registered on the member account.

For your dog’s safety, once your dog is inside the Dog Parker, no other member can open the Dog Parker with their card or via the app, so you know your dog is 100% safe from the elements.

Dog Parker Troubleshooting

What if my dog barks or is anxious when I leave?

As with anything new to your dog, we encourage you to slowly acclimate your dog to the Dog Parker. Try leaving your pup for a short amount of time at first and build up to more time as they get comfortable. You may also want to bring along their favorite toy or a treat so they have something familiar. In addition, we find that dogs that have previously been crate-trained are the most comfortable using the Dog Parker.

The Dog Parker mobile app (available on both iOS and Android) also allows you take advantage of the real-time web camera monitoring inside the house to see how your pup is doing!

If your dog experiences ongoing anxiety about using the Dog Parker, it may not be right for them. Unfortunately not every dog thrives in every situation or environment. We leave it up to you to determine if the Dog Parker service will be a good fit for your dog.
